Listen to your spouse

Listen to your spouse.

I know it's cliche, but take the time to sit down, relax, and listen to what they have to say.

Don't worry about anything else, and don't think about what you are going to say next.

Calm down, slow down, relax, and enjoy being with your spouse.

Give your SO your full attention, and make him/her feel cherished.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways (Poem)

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways..."
by Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

10 things you oughta know about love

Although this site is geared towards teens, I think it's something that is useful for everyone to remember, and to look over from time to time.

Take care of yourself

In order to give your SO the love and support they need, you must first take care of yourself.

Believe in yourself.

You are beautiful.

You are strong.

You can do anything, even though it may not always seem like you can.

Nourish yourself not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.

If you take care of yourself, you will be strong enough so that when your SO (or your friends or family) comes to you and needs to be nourished, you can nourish them as well.

Take care of yourself.

You are worth it!

Send a love note to your SO

Send a love note, card, or email to your significant other just because!

Let him or her know how much you appreciate him, and how much you love him out of the blue.

To make it extra special you can list 3 reasons you love them, or three reasons you are thankful for them...even if it is for something like taking out the trash, as long as it comes from the heart it is perfect.

Romance Tip! Be Kind to your SO.

I know it's trite but be kind to your SO.

Try showing him/her that you love them by doing special things that show you care.

You can suprise your SO with an extra special night out...maybe you can suprise them with a trip to their favorite place that you never quiet seem to go to because you don't like it as much as they do.

You could also suprise them with their favorite meal, or offer to play their favorite game.

You could even offer to give them a free day with no chores if you are feeling very daring!

I was suprised last week to learn that DH had never had breakfast in bed, so he was really excited when I served him breakfast in bed last week.

Of course the idea to serve him breakfast in bed wasn't mine...his dad suggested it when I asked if I should go wake DH up, but he still enjoyed it, and thought that it was a nice romantic gesture.
